Valerie manages the strategic planning and operation of the Club. She collaborates with the Board of Directors in developing goals, attaining & allocating resources, and establishing policies, and provides direction to staff in carrying out the key roles assigned to them. Valerie has been a resident of Cabarrus County since 1976. She has been the Director of the Club since 1994. Valerie has a BA Degree in Journalism and Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Amy manages all financial functions at the Club, including accounting, payroll, financial operations, personnel, employee benefits, insurance and legal requirements. Amy joined the Club in 2016. She is a graduate of NC State University with a BA in Biological & Agricultural Engineering and a minor in Finance. Amy has many hobbies, including fishing, hunting, gardening and knitting.

Bryan is responsible for financial management of and compliance with local, state and federal grants. He also provides support to the Finance Director for the management of all financial functions. Bryan joined the Club in 2020. He grew up in Concord and attended Concord High School. He graduated from Western Carolina University with a BSBA in Business Administration and Law.

Courtney Riley, Finance Manager
Courtney supports the Finance Director in accounting and systems functions including: accounts payable and receivable, payroll, human resources, insurance administration and office management functions. She grew up in Concord and was an active Keystone Member. Courtney graduated with a BA in Psychology from UNC-Chapel Hill. Courtney joined the Club in 2019. She will always be a Spider and a Tar Heel at heart!

Mary is responsible for providing leadership and direction in identifying and creating opportunities to build public awareness of Club services, programs, and activities, including promoting events or programs through social media and print publications. Mary also plans and coordinates our special events, such as Pancake Day, Festival of Trees, and our annual Golf Classic. Mary joined the Club in 2010. A graduate of Peace College, she is a native of Concord and a former Keystone Club member.

Alaina supports all efforts to build public awareness of Club services, programs, and activities. This includes managing all social media efforts and preparing print publications. Alaina also manages volunteer recruitment, screening, training, and program activities for all Club volunteers. Alaina is a Concord resident and joined the Club in 2018. She attended Appalachian State University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Advertising and was a member of the App State Dance Team.

Jonathan directs all 21st Century Community Learning Center Grants. He is also responsible for the management of all additional federal, state, and local government grants including reports, program and policy compliance monitoring, and staff training. Jonathan received a BA in Sociology with a minor in Urban Youth and Community from UNCC and a MS in Youth Development Leadership from Clemson University. Jonathan has worked at the Club and at Camp Spencer since 2011.

Lindsey Hapeman, Grants Manager
Lindsey provides support to the Grant Development Director in the management of the Governor’s Crime Commission Grant, which provides homework help, tutoring, mentoring, and conflict resolution to at-risk youth. Lindsey also serves as the Counseling Services Coordinator, working with Licensed Student Support Counselors. She graduated from Wingate University in 2018 with a BA in Educational Studies. Lindsey did her internship at the Club in 2018, served as a part time tutor in 2020 and joined the staff full time in 2021.

Austin Paxton, Grants Manager
Austin provides support to the Grant Development Director in the management of federal, state, and local grants including reports, compliance monitoring, and staff training. Austin also is responsible for recruiting youth for the ELISS Grant. Austin received a BS in Strategic Communication: Public Relations and an Interdisciplinary Degree in Family & Child Development, Psychology, & Public Health from Liberty University. Austin started working for the Club in 2016 as a Program Aide and joined the staff full time in August 2021.

Bailey provides support to the Grant Development Director in the management of all federal, state, and local government grants including reports, program and policy compliance monitoring, and staff training. Bailey worked at the Club as a camp counselor during the summer from 2011-2013. She re-joined the staff at the Club in 2018. She graduated from Western Carolina University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work.

Jeff oversees and helps implement programs that support the Club's vision and short-term and long-term plans, including implementation, external partner management and operational decisions. He has worked with Boys & Girls Clubs for 20 years. Jeff joined our Club in 2016. He is a graduate of North Carolina State with a BS in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management.
