The Cabarrus Arts Council Grassroots Grants Panel and Board of Directors voted to award Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County a grant in the amount of $5,000. Funding for this grant is provided by Grassroots Grants from the North Carolina Arts Council and the Robert and Mariam Hayes Charitable Trust. Thanks to this grant, more than 35 young people had the opportunity to explore a variety of artistic mediums, including multimedia projects, collage, and canvas painting. The funding made it possible to bring in a professional artist who guided participants through hands-on creative experiences that would not have been available otherwise.

Throughout the program, youth developed new skills, expressed their creativity, and gained confidence through art. To celebrate their accomplishments, we hosted an art exhibit showcasing their work and invited family members to share in the experience. The event brought together participants and their loved ones for an evening of art, refreshments, and pride in all that had been achieved.
